Haunted Changi

Haunted Changi

Singapore’s version of The Blair Witch Project is finally here and though I wasn’t too impressed by their trailer, but just because I’m quite a huge fan of such genres (love Paranormal Activity’s ending), I’ll probably try to catch it once I get back home.

Opens islandwide tomorrow at all major cinemas.

Hijacking of Singapore Airlines Flight 117

Snakes on a Plane

Following the recent Manila bus hijacking incident (unbelievable right?), I came across a very interesting blog supposedly written by a SIA cabin crew.

The post that caught my attention was this true story related by Toby, a former steward who was working on Flight 117 when it was hijacked by 4 Pakistanis on 26 March 1991.

EX KL:…flight was somehow delayed…captain came on PA addressing that we are expecting four more pax and we should be on our way….stomach was getting hungry and jus cant wait to have my Mac meal when we return to Singapore..

Finally the four pax boarded and we are all set to go……and the four Indian pax were ther nightmare that no one on the flight expected…flight took off after much delay and the seat belt sign were off before we start to run down the aisle to prepare for the drink service…being the most junior, I was working at AFT galley…or back galley…GLF was my LS and together with 2 other senior girls. As the aircraft stabilised, we were serving the pax a drink…a lady ask me if she could have a glass of warm milk as she was not feeling very well….ayah…have to heat up the milk then…

Back in the galley, heating up the milk…from the corner of my eyes saw four Indian pax seems to be looking for the toilet…pointed out to them where is located and to my surprise, two went into the each toilet…..wow…toilet must also go together…these idiots must be drunk at such early hours…

Getting ready to serve the warm milk….the four Indain pax came out of the toilet…with items holding in their hands….and shouted…”HIJACK HIJACK…this is a HIJACK…stay where you are”…..gosh..they must be really drunk……hijack on SQ…you must be crazy….confirm drunks……I was not really bothered with their shouts…in return, I smile at them and said…..”Sirs ,would you like to return to your seats”…..you probably will be laughing at my response but if you were to be on board…you may react the same I do….drunkards …trying to hijack SQ….way out of your mind…….my smile didn’t last long until I realise that punches has already landed on my stomach and face…..kicks and I was fell to the back of the galley.

Dog found brutally beaten to death at Sengkang void deck

The police received a call around 7.40pm last Wednesday and 6 policemen went down the scene of the crime, the void deck of Blk 267B Compassvale Link in Sengkang where they found the carcass of a Pomeranian drenched in blood.

Mr Toh, a 50-year-old hawker who works at a coffeeshop next to the void deck witnessed the dog being beaten and repeatedly flung against the floor was the one who called the police.

From the reports, the perpetrator was picking up the dog and throwing him onto the floor over and over again for a good 10 minutes.

Mr Toh said he was afraid to step in as the man looked crazy.

The case has been referred to the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) and investigations into the identity of the owner are ongoing.

World Cup @ McDonald’s

World Cup Girl

Like any self respecting Singaporean football fan, with the insane World Cup rates bordering on day-light robbery, we’re all flocking to our neighbourhood kopitiams and McDonald’s.

So the other day, I was at a particular McDonald’s at 0230 watching the Spain, Paraguay match and the place’s packed like every other McDonald’s this World Cup season. I was rooting for the Spanish and was pretty sure the Paraguayans were pretty damn lucky to get this far.

So it goes.

Around the 60th minute, Gerard Pique pulled down Paraguay’s Oscar Cardozo in the penalty area on a corner kick, earning a yellow card and giving Cardozo a penalty kick. Amazing Spanish goalkeeper Iker Casillas dived left to block Cardozo’s low kick and the entire McDonald’s erupted in cheers and roars.

“Sure are a bunch of passionate Spain fans,” my buddy whispered to me.

Seconds later, on Villa’s attack in the penalty box, he was hauled down by Antolin Alcoraz, who drew a yellow card. Xabi Alonso took the penalty spot and sent a beautiful drive into the net. Again, the entire McDonald’s erupted in cheers but the referee Carlos ‘Kelong’ Batres quickly dampened the spirits and disallowed the goal, saying a Spain player entered the area too soon.

Given a second chance, Paraguay keeper Justo Villar guessed correctly, diving left to stop the penalty kick. He also knocked the rebound away from Cesc Fabregas before defender Paulo Da Silva made a leg save at the goal line on another shot by Sergio Ramos.

And this is the part that baffles me to no end.

The entire McDonald’s erupted into cheers yet again.

WTF is going on here? Who the hell are these people supporting?

Are they simply watching for the thrill of the goals? Do they care which team wins? Do they even know which team’s which?

Excellent. :?

Addendum: Wondering if screening the World Cup have been good for McDonald’s business or are they cannibalizing themselves with the horde of freeloaders?

Sex: The Annabel Chong Story

Sex: The Annabel Chong Story

Well, I finally watched this documentary a few days ago and I must say its pretty interesting and brilliant (as a Singaporean) but the actual film itself was meh.

A fascinating, colourful life which each and everyone of us can learn from (not to become a pornstar girls), but you know what’s one thing I’d like to take away from this whole saga.

This.
