He’s a Swedish student on an exchange programme and his lovely companion is a PhD scholar with A*STAR, the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, who is studying at the Karolinksa Institute in Sweden.
The young couple caused a stir when they walked down Holland Village au naturel on 24 January 2009 at about 11pm.
Jan Philip, 21 & Eng Kai Er, 24 were hauled before the judge and if convicted under the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act, the couple could be fined up to $2,000 and/or jailed up to three months each.
I wonder what does A*STAR got to say about this?

“When contacted, a spokesperson for A*STAR told TODAY the Agency is concerned that the woman charged in court for the offence is an A*STAR scholar. And she added: “However, as the matter is now before the courts, we would prefer not to make any further comment until the case is resolved.”
what else could they have said?
Honestly, I have no idea, but sure as hell would like to see how would they comment on this matter.
Just say: “If NUS students can run around naked, why can’t an A*STAR scholar do so?”
Or if they ask me to be their spokesperson: “If she doesn’t end up washing test tubes or making people wash test tubes for her, she can at least have an alternative occupation.”
Molly witty as always.
Then you wouldn’t be such a good A*STAR spokesperson, washing test tubes is NTU undergrads’ responsibility no?
Actually not NTU undergrads, but their graduates. (If I’m not wrong, undergrads are not good enough for washing test tubes).
What I meant was she would probably be ordering people to wash test tubes. But in case that doesn’t materialize, the back-up plan is to be ordered to wash test tubes. But if even that doesn’t work (economy bad mah), she can at least be stripper. No such thing as a dead end. My response shows the versatility of A*Star scholars what.
